About the team:

You will join a distributed team across Europe and Asia with shared time for collaboration such as planning, retros, stand-ups and brainstorming sessions. You are among a team of DevOps experts which overlooks Goodnotes cloud infrastructure and support other autonomous teams such as QA, Classroom, Machine Learning and Goodnotes Cloud. Your work would bring a smooth and satisfying experience to dozens of millions of users and soon many more.

About the role:

This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below

  • Manage and optimize our cloud resources (AWS, Aliyun), focusing on performance, cost-effectiveness, and security.
  • Automate manual tasks and processes to improve efficiency, reduce human error, and increase the speed of our development lifecycle.
  • Share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team

The skills you will need to be successful in the above

  • Fluent English and Mandarin
  • Certifications certifications in China
  • Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS CN, Azure CN or Aliyun CN).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CDK
  • Knowledge in CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, GitHub actions
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
  • Expertise in operating a scalable and resilient kubernetes cluster
  • Knowledge in cloud storage, deployment and computing. We use AWS but we’re open to other platform experience
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
  • Good understanding of computer science fundamentals
  • Robust software engineering practices, testing and automation have no secrets for you
  • Excellent problem-solving and story-telling skills
  • A love of software craftsmanship, you have a strong desire of self-improvement through side projects and sharing
  • Good sense of the best tools for any task

  • An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join Goodnotes
  • A short troubleshooting skills take home assignment
  • A live coding technical interview - skills in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, Linux, networking, and security, as well as your ability to clearly explain your thought process.
  • Engineering Manager interview - asking questions around your experience and technical projects you have been involved in
  • Behavioural panel interview - answering questions around the Goodnotes company values and a short presentation on one of your passions
