Cancer Screening Projects Manager

The Cancer Center at the University of Virginia seeks to hire a Screening Program Manager. The manager of screening programs and services will be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the strategic goals and objectives related to cancer screening and navigation. The manager will work with key stakeholders in the community and UVA Health to improve screening rates, develop effective pathways to initiate screening and follow up of abnormal findings.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Cancer Center leadership to develop screening programs and initiatives specific to the needs of the cancer center catchment area, including breast, cervical, colorectal, lung, melanoma and prostate
  • Develops and implements screening based programs, including needs analysis, background literature reviews and setting goals and objectives
  • Works with Cancer Center leadership to develop and implement navigation services and pathways
  • Works with community and partner sites to develop and implement navigation pathways; including developing relationships for referral and follow up
  • Provides management and oversight for navigation team
  • Manages and track progress according to the timeline and provides regular, timely updates to the Director of OCOE.
  • Works with regional outreach specialists to implement and monitor screening services in the community
  • Provides day-to-day direction and coordination of cancer screening service and programs, including the management of screening work plans and reporting.
  • Develops systems and processes necessary for tracking cancer screenings

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer. Experience: 7 years of experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: A master's degree in public health, nursing, or a related field. Experience: 8 years working with in a healthcare setting, public health or related field, with 4 years of managerial experience in a professional setting. Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require regional travel 1-2 times a month. Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Exemption Status: This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits . Funding Details : This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability. W ork Arrangement: This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days on Grounds per week, with additional on-site presence as needed, in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
