Engineer, MACD; Remote​/Third Shift

The Role AtPresidio, Engineers are responsible for executing Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions (MACD) within the client’s network environment. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this role involves hands‑on support and oversight of the client’s internal infrastructure, and timely resolution of MACD requests. The Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for their assigned tasks, maintaining end‑to‑end ownership unless otherwise directed. The Engineer will be expected to interact with customers, peers and management via phone, instant messaging, video, and email to ensure customer issues are resolved per contracted SLAs. Flexibility in work schedule, including potential shift rotation, may be required. Travel Requirements: This will be a remote role situated in the Continental US which will be responsible for the 3rd shift (12:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. ET Monday‑Friday). Responsibilities include:

  • Perform critical vulnerability patching on the below devices:
  • Cisco Switches
  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
  • Meraki Access Points
  • Meraki Switches
  • Meraki Firewalls
  • Implement optional patches do resolve any bugs or software impacting events.
  • Perform multiple Move/Add/Change/Deletes for the above referenced products. This can include the following:
  • ACL Modifications
  • VLAN Configuration Changes
  • Routing Changes
  • Interface Configuration Modifications
  • High-Availability Configuration
  • Attend daily meetings with clients when necessary to review high priority issues and provide/accept guidance on issues affecting their internal infrastructure. This would include being familiar with the client’s environment and having extensive knowledge of the infrastructure.
  • Provide feedback to management on process improvements and areas of concern.
  • Provides emergency on‑call support on a rotating schedule.
  • Be available while on‑shift through several different venues – Instant Messaging, phone, emails and any new and acceptable methods of communication as deemed appropriate.
  • Carry out testing of new features, and functionality as required and to help develop plans to implement and verify that they are operating correctly in the live network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, configuration and affected problems and to track vendor support cases through to problem resolution on production issues
  • Develop additional skills in other products as business needs dictate
  • Communicate effectively amongst the onsite team and across Service Delivery Management and direct Management.
  • Respond to customer service calls and emails in agreed upon timeframe.
  • Manage service tickets that are assigned to your personal and team queue.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technology/Area of Specialization

  • Network Engineers will have expert‑level knowledge of routing, switching and network security concepts and technologies.
  • Network Engineers will assess network performance to ensure that the business needs of our clients are met.
  • Network Engineers will perform multiple Move/Add/Change/Delete functions within a single client environment across multiple verticals.

Required Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
  • 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role with prior experience performing multiple Move/Add/Change/Delete functions within a single client environment across multiple verticals.
  • Deep knowledge of routing, switching and network security concepts and technologies.
  • Network Engineers will have or work towards industry standard certifications, including:
  • CCNP
  • PCNSE
  • CMNA
  • Strong interpersonal skills and expert level relationship management abilities – showcasing the ability to work well with many levels of client engineering and management
