Junior Medical Coder – Remote Role for Fresh Graduates
Job Summary The Elite Job is seeking detail-oriented and driven Junior Medical Coders to join our growing healthcare documentation team. This is a remote opportunity ideally suited for recent graduates or individuals looking to launch a career in the medical coding and health information management field. As a Junior Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documents and assigning standardized medical codes that support billing, compliance, and statistical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- * Review and analyze patient medical records and clinical documentation.
- * Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation and coding guidelines.
- * Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of coded information.
- * Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify inconsistencies in documentation.
- * Adhere to HIPAA and regulatory compliance requirements.
- * Support the billing department in ensuring clean claim submission.
- * Participate in training sessions and ongoing learning to stay updated with coding changes and best practices.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- * Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- * Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems (training will be provided).
- * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- * Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- * Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- * Computer proficiency including MS Office and cloud-based platforms.
- Experience
- * No prior experience required.
- * Fresh graduates in Life Sciences, Health Information Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health are encouraged to apply.
- * Internship or certification in Medical Coding (AAPC/CPC or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Working Hours
- * Full-time position with flexible working hours.
- * Core availability expected between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (based on time zone alignment).
