Job Title: Electrical Studies Subject Matter Expert

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Studies Subject Matter Expert to support the design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects. This role requires a professional who can recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective actions, and strive for better design quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will identify and resolve errors in engineering studies, suggest future solutions, and prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.
  • Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
  • Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
  • Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
  • Work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
  • Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions.
  • Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
  • Handle other assigned duties as needed.
  • Travel 10% of the time for project-specific duties.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 7 years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction.
  • Expertise in one or more areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
  • Proficiency in ETAP, PSCAD, and PSSE software.
  • Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
  • Ability to handle specialized technical tasks independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IEC standards.

Work Environment

The work environment is either corporate or remote, with required travel to Juno Beach. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic setting, offering opportunities for growth and development. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
