About the position AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Raleigh on January 28-29, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Raleigh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. AECOM is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to be based in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, or Miami. What You’ll Do: As a Deputy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role supporting project delivery, operations, and performance across multiple business lines. Your work will make an impact across Transportation, Water, Program & Project Management (PPM), Buildings + Places, Environment, and Energy.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers to support a variety of projects and programs across the Metro New York region.
  • Monitor project performance and understand how individual projects contribute to overall business outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations in Excel and PowerPoint, and contribute to project delivery
  • Apply standard engineering and project management techniques to develop technical skills and professional judgment.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, and other project deliverables under the supervision of experienced professionals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews and contribute to continuous improvement across teams.
  • Develop and manage spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools to support project and business operations.
  • Collect data and prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts on key project and program financial metrics.
  • Conduct research, perform analysis, and present recommendations based on findings.
  • Coordinate with business lines and corporate teams to compile and analyze data for management reporting.
  • Assist Project Managers with cost control, schedule tracking, and other key project management functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant experience, internship or professional work, is a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of industry software such as Oracle- Primavera P6 software, Revit, etc.
  • Working Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power Bi and Office.
  • 365 apps such as Power Apps, Power Automate and SharePoint Design.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, high proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to work with different levels of both technical and administrative personnel.
  • High comfort level with quantitative analysis, particularly under tight time constraints.
  • Excellent communicator including the desire to ask questions and learn from co-workers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with a commitment to completing tasks with urgency and within established deadlines.
