Solution Architect - Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

Remote Full-time Hiring now

About the position As a Solution Advisor for Infrastructure & Security at Bluewave, you will be a key member of our Solution Advisory team, with a specific focus on helping clients improve their security posture and IT resiliency. You will work at the intersection of information security, infrastructure, and business outcomes—partnering with Bluewave’s Client Advisors, existing clients, and new prospects to identify gaps, shape opportunities, and design solutions that reduce risk and improve continuity. In this role, you’ll operate as a senior individual contributor and trusted advisor. You will own opportunity strategy for infrastructure and security deals, drive discovery and solution design, and serve as a primary subject‑matter resource for Infrastructure & Security within Solution Advisory. You bring practitioner‑level experience in security, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to communicate credibly with CIOs, CISOs, and IT leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity discovery & advisory
  • Systematically uncover security and resiliency gaps across existing customers and targeted prospects through structured discovery, assessments, and account planning.
  • Partner with Client Advisory (Sales) to shape net‑new logo pursuits around security and resiliency outcomes, not just individual products.
  • Lead discovery conversations that draw out business drivers, risk appetite, compliance pressures, and technical constraints from mixed stakeholder groups (IT, security, and business).
  • Solution strategy, design & provider alignment
  • Interpret current‑state architectures, security tool stacks, and telemetry at a conceptual level and identify meaningful gaps and improvement paths.
  • Translate requirements and gaps into the provider marketplace, aligning customers with appropriate MSSPs, security platforms, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop clear narratives and recommendations—current state → gaps → future state—paired with comparative analyses (pros/cons, risk, TCO/ROI) across multiple options.
  • Collaborate with supplier SMEs, distributors/TSDs, and internal specialists to ensure proposed solutions are both technically credible and commercially viable.
  • Executive communication & client engagement
  • Engage directly with CIO/CISO/VP Infrastructure and IT leadership, framing security and resiliency discussions in terms of risk, business impact, and outcomes—using clear, non‑jargon language.
  • Lead workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and executive readouts, including assessment findings, roadmaps, and decision‑support decks.
  • Produce concise, high‑impact written materials (executive summaries, decision decks, assessment outputs) that help customers and Sales move opportunities forward.
  • Practice development & enablement
  • Refine and advance Bluewave’s IT Resiliency & Security practice—including assessment approaches, sales plays, and repeatable collateral.
  • Work as a bridge between Client Advisory, other Solution Advisors (Cloud, Network, CX), Client Success, and supplier partners to ensure a cohesive, end‑to‑end advisory experience.
  • Contribute to internal enablement: share marketplace insights, emerging patterns, and best practices with Sales and Solution Advisory peers.
  • Revenue & pipeline contribution
  • Own a personal portfolio of opportunities within the Infrastructure & Security practice, operating independently on strategy and execution while knowing when to pull in practice leads.
  • Contribute to practice‑level pipeline and closed business goals, supporting the creation and closure of recurring security and resiliency revenue.
  • Maintain accurate, timely updates in CRM and related tools to support forecasting, pipeline visibility, and performance tracking.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of information security fundamentals (CIA triad, defense‑in‑depth, zero trust concepts, shared responsibility in cloud).
  • Practical knowledge across core security and resiliency domains, including:
  • SOC / SIEM / XDR / MDR / EDR models and outcomes
  • Network and cloud security (e.g., SASE/ZTNA, NGFW, VPN replacement, segmentation, DDoS, WAF, API security)
  • Identity & access (SSO, MFA, IAM basics, PAM concepts)
  • Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity (RPO/RTO, failover patterns, hybrid environments)
  • Ability to read and interpret current‑state environments (at a conceptual level) and have intelligent design discussions—without needing to be a SOC analyst or hands‑on engineer.
  • Experience supporting or working within Sales/Channel, including comfort in customer‑facing roles and alignment to revenue‑driven objectives.
  • Understanding of basic commercial levers (contract constructs, managed vs. co‑managed models, OpEx/CapEx trade‑offs, recurring revenue) and how they influence recommendations.
  • Executive communication skills—credible with CIO/CISO/VP‑level stakeholders; able to frame risk, resiliency, and business impact clearly.
  • Strong written communication for executive summaries, assessment reports, and decision decks.
  • Demonstrated ownership and seniority: operates independently on opportunities, manages their own portfolio, and knows when to engage other practice leads.
  • Collaborative, low‑ego mindset aligned with Bluewave’s Assess → Advise → Advocate model and culture.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to travel as needed for key client meetings and internal events.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands‑on familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and the ability to connect them to real‑world environments.
  • Experience leading discovery workshops and whiteboarding sessions with mixed technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven strength in synthesis and storytelling—turning complex, messy inputs into clear roadmaps and recommendations.
  • Experience in the Channel and/or with technology advisory organizations, TSDs, or MSSPs.
  • One or more relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, vendor‑specific credentials).

Benefits

  • Full benefits package including health insurance options, generous 401(k) match, Open PTO, Paid Parental Leave, and more.
