Senior Automation Engineer (API Testing Specialist)
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (API Testing Specialist) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking a highly technical Automation Engineer with a specialized focus on API and Middleware testing. In this role, you will be the quality gatekeeper for a microservices architecture. You will architect robust automation suites that validate the data integrity, security, and performance of REST and SOAP web services. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute API test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure high-quality product delivery
- Create and maintain automation test frameworks for REST and SOAP bases API's using SOA test, postman or SOAP UI
- Develop reusable test automation components and utilities using Java
- Collaborate with developers, product managers and QA teams to identify, isolate and resolve defects
- Conduct Regression and Integration End to end testing for backend services and API
- Document and track defects, test results and automation metrics
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in API testing and automation
- Deep understanding of RESTful and SOAP-based web services
- Strong experience with SOAP UI, SOA Test, or Postman
- Familiarity with test management and defect management tools like JIRA, Octane
- Experience with CI//CD tools eg: Jenkins
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
