Competency

Description

Relatability

The invaluable asset of being able to instantly establish genuine rapport with individuals across diverse socioeconomic, professional, and cultural backgrounds is a cornerstone of effective communication and leadership. This goes beyond mere superficial politeness; it involves possessing a keen emotional intelligence. The capacity to bridge divides and find common ground—whether in a casual team meeting, or an interaction with a completely unfamiliar acquaintance—creates an atmosphere of trust and open dialogue. This foundational trust is what ultimately facilitates cooperation, drives successful collaborations, and fosters a more productive environment for all involved.

Resilience

Successful Field Representatives will sustain a high level of energy and a positive demeanor in a high stress, high stakes environment. Successful Field Representatives will have a spirit of tackling hard tasks and not being afraid of failure.

Metric-Driven

Successful Field Representatives will have a "results-first" mindset focused on hitting hard deadlines.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Hours: This is not a 9-to-5 desk job. It requires heavy evening and weekend work when community events take place.
  • Expectations: Frequent driving, standing for long periods at events, and addressing medium to large crowds.
  • Adaptability: Must be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where priorities can shift daily

The Ideal Candidate: You aren't just a "staffer"—you are a community connector. You believe that connecting communities with the Governor’s Office is just the first step of building the best state to live, work and play.
