Remote Full-time Hiring now

Patent Assistant / Patent Paralegal

Remote (Denver, Colorado area preferred) | Permanent | Full-Time | $80K-$115K (salary dependant on level of experience)

About the Role

As a Patent Assistant / Patent Paralegal, you will work alongside U.S. patent attorneys and U.S. registered agents to drive the progress of client patent portfolios, contributing to our Denver‑based U.S. practice while collaborating closely with colleagues across EIP’s international offices.

You will take ownership of defined aspects of U.S. and international patent work, applying your knowledge of patent procedure to manage matters proactively, ensuring deadlines are met, and keeping portfolios moving efficiently. This role requires a high degree of independence, sound judgement, and confidence in handling client communications and workflows.

You will be expected to maintain a strong understanding of EIP, its operations, and key personnel, and to work as a trusted part of the wider team, anticipating needs, managing processes end‑to‑end, and contributing to the smooth and successful prosecution and management of client portfolios.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, organised, and ready to make an impact. You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Patent Assistant or Patent Paralegal within a U.S. practice
  • Solid understanding of USPTO patent prosecution and PCT procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and a highly organised working style
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and patent‑specific software tools
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with multiple attorneys
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using patent docketing databases and patent document‑management systems
  • IP paralegal certification or formal IP training (advantageous but not required)

Why EIP EIP is an international, award‑winning patent practice known for handling high‑value, complex patent matters. With offices across Europe and the US, we combine global reach with a collaborative, forward‑thinking culture where innovation, inclusion, and teamwork thrive. You’ll join a supportive and collaborative team with exposure to high‑quality U.S. and international patent work, including direct client‑facing responsibilities. We’re committed to long‑term career development and offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, a 401(k), and the potential for performance‑based bonuses. This role also offers the flexibility to work remotely, with the option to use our Denver office and dedicated workspace if desired.
