Eagle Point School District 9 - Travel Southern Oregon - Position Details: Title: Special Education Instructional Assistant - 7 hrs/day Placement (location): Eagle Rock Elementary School Supervisor: Principal or designee Contract Days: 179 days/year to begin 9/5/2023 Salary Range: $17.96-$25.53 per hour depending upon verified, previous full time experience in similar position Closing Date: Open until filled with screening to begin immediately Description: Special Education Instructional Assistants are responsible for providing, under the guidance and direction of a classroom teacher, instruction and tutoring on various subjects to students with emotional, physical, behavioral or mental disabilities in assigned special education programs. Assists in monitoring students, maintaining a clean and orderly learning environment to ensure the health and safety of students; assists in cleaning and straightening the classroom; assists with student personal hygiene and grooming needs including toileting, eating, changing diapers and clothes in the event of accidents. General Expectations: The ideal applicant will demonstrate a knowledge of working with special needs students using positive behavior supports. Instructional Assistants must complete yearly continuing education regarding privacy, and overall safety for all students. The applicant will be willing to learn best practices for working with our students needing more supports. In addition, the ideal applicant will demonstrate a passion for helping all students reach their academic growth goals, work collaboratively as a team and desire to grow and develop professionally.
