About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-obsessed Principal UX Designer to join the Prime Video UX Design Studio. This pivotal role involves leading the design direction for core design systems and shaping the user experiences that define the relationship customers have with Prime Video. The ideal candidate will sit at the heart of the Prime Video application, influencing foundational design elements that all feature teams incorporate, with a primary focus on living-room and mobile platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive cross-platform design excellence, advocate for user-centered solutions, and elevate the overall quality and consistency of Prime Video’s user experience. The Principal UX Designer will collaborate closely with product teams, development groups, and stakeholders to create innovative, intuitive, and engaging entertainment experiences for millions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of comprehensive design experience in user interface, interaction, and information architecture.
• Proven experience working with design systems at scale and contributing to their evolution.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in lifecycle design projects from strategy through execution.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and advocate design concepts effectively.
• Experience in developing high-level requirements and use cases in collaboration with product teams.
• Familiarity with native interaction patterns across living-room and mobile platforms.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones is preferred.
• Experience in entertainment, technology development, or related industries is advantageous.
• Knowledge of integrating AI or automation into design workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strong design advocate across the Prime Video organization, elevating quality standards and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Contribute to the ownership and continuous improvement of the Prime Video design system, ensuring consistency and adoption across all feature teams and platforms.
• Analyze customer problems and craft delightful, effective solutions aligned with measurable business objectives.
• Collaborate with product teams to develop use cases, high-level requirements, and strategic design concepts.
• Rapidly generate concepts, sketches, prototypes, and vision artifacts to visualize design directions and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Present design work to various stakeholders, including UX teams, product managers, and project stakeholders, for review and feedback.
• Partner with development teams to produce detailed design specifications, create assets, and review implemented interfaces for quality and fidelity.
• Hold authoritative influence over the overarching design of the Prime Video experience, setting standards for navigation, structure, and shared surfaces.
• Drive cross-platform design excellence, with a focus on native interaction patterns for living-room and mobile devices, pushing platform capabilities.
• Lead and facilitate design workshops, ideation sessions, and strategic visioning exercises to translate complex ideas into tangible outputs.
