Position Summary

The Digital Marketplace Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing Midland Industries’ presence across third-party marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, distributor platforms, and other digital channels). This role owns product listings, content accuracy, pricing execution, and marketplace performance to drive revenue growth and profitability.

This individual will ensure Midland’s products are visible, accurate, and competitive across all digital channels while identifying opportunities to improve sales, margin, and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketplace Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations across digital marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, industrial distributor platforms).
  • Ensure all product listings are accurate, complete, and aligned with Midland standards.
  • Monitor marketplace performance, including sales, margins, and product visibility.

Product Listings & Content

  • Create, update, and optimize product listings (titles, descriptions, images, attributes).
  • Ensure consistency of product data across all platforms.
  • Partner with product management to maintain accurate specifications and technical details.

Sales & Performance Optimization

  • Analyze marketplace performance and identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
  • Optimize pricing, promotions, and assortment to remain competitive.
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as conversion rates, search rankings, and sell-through.

Inventory & Availability

  • Partner with supply chain and purchasing to ensure product availability aligns with demand.
  • Monitor stock levels and prevent out-of-stock or overstock situations on key SKUs.

Data & Reporting

  • Track and report on marketplace KPIs (sales, margin, traffic, conversion, returns).
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews by marketplace, product category, and SKU.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Supply Chain teams to align priorities.
  • Support new product launches across digital channels.
  • Ensure alignment between digital marketplace strategy and overall sales strategy.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve marketplace processes, tools, and data accuracy.
  • Support implementation of ecommerce tools, PIM systems, or integrations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in ecommerce, digital marketplaces, or online merchandising.
  • Experience with Amazon Seller/Vendor Central or similar platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience in distribution, industrial products, or B2B environments preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing product listings and digital content.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Understanding of pricing, margins, and digital sales drivers.
  • Ability to manage multiple SKUs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
