Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented LMS (Canvas) Production Specialist/Course Builder to join our innovative learning team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging online courses within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). The Production Specialist is responsible for technical execution and operational maintenance within the LMS (Canvas). This role focuses on building, updating, and validating course shells based on clearly defined instructions and approved content. The Production Specialist ensures courses are technically sound, consistent with templates, and ready for handoff, and is not expected to perform any content/instructional design-related tasks. Primary Scope

  • Execute course setup and maintenance tasks in Canvas DEV and live shells
  • Build and update modules, pages, assignments, and quizzes based on provided instructions
  • Apply institutional templates, navigation structures, and layout standards
  • Replace files, update links, and manage media embeds as directed
  • Perform bulk updates across multiple courses or sections (dates, settings, visibility)
  • Conduct technical QA:
  • Broken links
  • Missing files
  • Media playback issues
  • Navigation and module flow
  • Prepare DEV shells for export by ensuring they are complete and error-free

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience working in Canvas LMS
  • Strong execution skills across modules, pages, assignments, quizzes, and files
  • Ability to follow detailed build instructions with high accuracy
  • Comfort with repetitive, deadline-driven production work

Nice-to-Have

Skills

  • Familiarity with Ally or Panorama accessibility indicators
  • Experience supporting higher education online or hybrid programs
  • Familiarity with access and data privacy guidelines (FERPA )

Success Indicators

  • Technically clean and consistent course shells
  • Minimal rework due to execution errors
  • Reliable turnaround aligned with academic timelines

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits:
