About Meridian Counseling Position Overview: The Clinical Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and guiding supervisees within Meridian Counseling. This position involves providing clinical supervision, ensuring the quality of client care, supporting the professional development and managing their supervisory team. Responsibilities: Clinical Supervision:

  • Provide regular triadic supervision to Associate Psychotherapists
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical work while offering guidance, feedback and support.
  • Promote collaboration and growth oriented mindset.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and evidenced-based interventions.
  • Oversee the management of client cases, ensuring effective treatment planning, use of appropriate interventions and coordination of care.
  • Request case presentations/video recordings to ensure adherence to clinical protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Staff Management:

  • Encourage employee development, measurement and accountability, while highlighting achievements.
  • Coach to achieve successful results to enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Recognize gaps in skills and offer training to improve performance and professional development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support supervisees' growth and development.
  • With the support of HR, address employee relations and performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance measures to evaluate effectiveness and outcomes of clinical services.
  • Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards,
  • Address and resolve any issues related to quality of client care.

Team Collaboration:

  • Foster a positive and collaborative supervisory team culture through effective communication and interpersonal skills, including developing strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as administration and intake, to ensure seamless service delivery. Encourage and model support for those teams' requests in a timely manner.

Ethical Standards and Compliance:

  • Ensure that supervisees adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements and legal regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting clinical practice.
  • Address any compliance issues promptly and in collaboration with leadership and HR when necessary, this includes harassment, bullying, and other discriminatory behavior.

Supervisory Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supervision sessions, including progress notes and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare reports as needed for organizational leadership.
  • Maintain performance documentation, including both recognition AND noncompliance/neglect leading to disciplinary action in partnership with HR.
  • With support of HR, prepare corrective action plans when support is needed to reinforce expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD/PsyD in the field of psychology, social work or counseling.
  • Clinical Licensure (PhD, PsyD) required in the State of California.
  • Proven experience in clinical supervision within a healthcare or mental health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical best practices, treatment modalities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Prior experience leading and managing employees and teams preferred.
