Experienced Safety Analyst – Aviation Safety Programs and Data Analysis

As a Safety Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our Safety department by processing reviews, collecting data, growing reports, following up on corrective actions, investigating activities, and collaborating on various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safety Analyst, you'll be responsible for:

  • Acting as a project manager for Safety Programs
  • Collaborating with Safety Department Managers on safety activities
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and investigating all reports acquired through the safety reporting system (Operational/Irregularity, ASAP, Fatigue)
  • Analyzing technical data from hazards, activities, and occurrences, and identifying and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Acting as a safety auditor for the Internal Evaluation Program, Safety Investigations, and accelerated hazard areas of operations
  • Tracking, analyzing, and interpreting data outputs from the Company's safety programs
  • Assisting with the management of the company databases for the purpose of enhanced airline safety
  • Assisting the Safety Team in any critical investigations
  • Providing technical knowledge to Management on data models, database design improvement, and data mining
  • Preparing relevant reports and communicating safety-related data to managers and line employees in support of the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Assisting with the development, implementation, and control of the Company's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Acting as a member of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Monitoring Team, overseeing aircraft data collection (including Technical Operations), conducting FOQA data evaluation, and fashioning identity
  • Maintaining FOQA Database and ensuring organization compliance with FOQA guidelines
  • Assisting with the continuous development of the risk identification and safety hazard evaluation schemes of the Company
  • Preparing research studies on aviation safety trends
  • Any other duties assigned by management

Essential Qualifications

* Knowledge of Aviation Safety programs (ASAP, FOQA, LOSA, FRMP, IEP, VDRP)

  • Operational familiarity with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight, and Maintenance
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, minimum system lists, aircraft dispatch procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System requirements, hazard control, safety assurance, safety reporting, and safety promotion
  • Basic knowledge of Crew Resource Management principles and aviation human factors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Excellent writing skills, including report writing, document writing, and correspondence with regulatory agencies
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and educational skills
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills; ability to perform statistical analysis and audits

Preferred Skills

* Bachelor's degree in an associated field

  • Previous experience in airline operations
  • FAA aircraft dispatcher, pilot, and/or A&P certificate
