Remote Therapeutic Intake Coordinator - LCSW/LPC - Full-time

Remote Full-time Hiring now

About the position Ally Psychiatry is seeking a Full-time Therapeutic Intake Coordinator (LCSW or LPC) to join our growing clinical team in a fully remote role serving patients in South Carolina. This role plays a vital part in a patient’s first experience with our organization. The Therapeutic Intake Coordinator conducts comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations (CPT 90791) for new patients entering care, ensuring thorough assessments that support accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment planning, and a smooth transition to ongoing care with our prescribing providers. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys assessment-focused work, collaboration with psychiatric providers, and helping patients begin their mental health treatment journey with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations (CPT 90791) for new patients, including clinical history, presenting concerns, psychosocial background, and mental status examination.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the EMR in accordance with Ally Psychiatry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify provisional diagnoses and initial treatment recommendations based on assessment findings.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure seamless transition into ongoing psychiatric care.
  • Screen for safety concerns including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, abuse, or neglect, and follow appropriate clinical protocols when risk is identified.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and available resources.
  • Maintain a consistent evaluation schedule to support patient access and clinic capacity goals.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program.
  • Active, unrestricted clinical license in the applicable state (LCSW, LICSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Experience conducting psychiatric diagnostic evaluations or clinical assessments in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and familiarity with evidence-based screening and assessment tools.
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with patients during intake evaluations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to maintain productivity expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Fully remote work environment with reliable patient volume
  • Predictable schedule / no call
  • Collaborative, physician-led clinical team focused on high-quality patient care
  • Strong administrative and operational support so clinicians can focus on clinical work rather than logistics
  • Opportunity to be part of a growing behavioral health organization expanding access to psychiatric care across multiple states
  • A professional, supportive culture that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care
