The successful candidate will partner closely with senior bookkeepers, contribute to month‑end close processes, and ensure the integrity of financial records across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement enhancements to bookkeeping procedures, leveraging automation tools where appropriate.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with cross‑functional teams—including procurement, operations, and senior finance—to gather necessary information and resolve accounting issues.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide guidance to junior accountants and bookkeeping staff on daily tasks, best practices, and system usage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to corporate policies, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Travel Coordination: Occasionally support on‑site visits or audits, requiring less than 10% travel time.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on bookkeeping experience, preferably in a retail or consumer‑goods environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization).
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable accounting software.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for creating dashboards.
  • Experience in expense management, cost accounting, or vendor reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (SOX compliance) and audit processes.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous data entry and verification to ensure error‑free financial records.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proactive identification of discrepancies and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain organized documentation.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfortable navigating ERP systems, spreadsheets, and cloud‑based collaboration tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with remote teams across different time zones.
