Staff Accountant - Remote, Connecticut

While this role has core responsibilities, team members are frequently asked to assist with various projects outside their primary scope to help the company succeed Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable / Contract Management:
  • Ensure invoices are accurate, detailed, and sent on time
  • Track payments, manage collections, and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Resolve billing questions and discrepancies in coordination with client services and leadership
  • Update Salesforce: client contract information and purchased products; match with billing
  • Expense Management & Payables:
  • Manage vendor bills, subscriptions, and recurring expenses
  • Maintain clean categorization and documentation of all expenses
  • Financial Operations & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
  • Prepare clear financial summaries and reports for leadership
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Interface regularly with leadership on financial questions and reporting
  • Work closely with operations and sales teams to ensure billing and expenses align with contracts and scopes.

Experience & Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations, ideally in a tech/software company, or fast-growing business.
  • Deep hands-on experience with complex, high-volume billing and accounts receivable
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in clean, accurate financials
  • Very comfortable with Excel, using Pivot tables and V Lookups
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Clear communicator who can explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience with accounting and expense tools such as QuickBooks, Gusto, Expensify or similar.
