Position Overview
The Advanced Remote Data Entry Specialist is a critical member of our Data Center Operations team. This role focuses on high‑volume data entry, meticulous documentation, and hands‑on support of our server farm infrastructure. You will work remotely but will also be called upon for on‑site activities such as equipment moves, rack installations, and emergency troubleshooting. The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with an eye for detail, ensuring that our IT environment remains reliable, secure, and well‑documented at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Documentation: Accurately capture, update, and maintain records of all server farm activities, including hardware inventories, change logs, and incident reports.
- Operational Support: Perform power cycles, replace failed components, manage storage media, and conduct diagnostics following established data center procedures.
- Infrastructure Installation: Assist with cabling, equipment rack/stack installations, testing, and verification of network switches, servers, and storage devices.
- Physical Moves & Racking: Provide hands‑on support for on‑site equipment moves, ensuring safe handling, proper labeling, and precise placement within rack units.
- Inventory Coordination: Work closely with the inventory and procurement team to track shipments, manage stock levels, and support high‑volume operations.
- Collaboration & Communication: Build strong working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and cross‑functional project groups to streamline ticket lifecycles and resolve issues efficiently.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Incident Response: Be on‑call for after‑hours emergencies, providing rapid diagnosis and remediation to minimize downtime.

Essential Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands‑on IT experience in a data center, server farm, or similar environment.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA ITF+, A+, Server+, or BICSI Installer I (or equivalent) are required.
- Proficiency with macOS, iPadOS, and Windows operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work in environments ranging from 79°F to 105°F, withstanding physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address critical incidents.
- Strong documentation skills and a meticulous approach to data entry and record‑keeping.
