Position Summary – Why This Role Matters

The Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex is the frontline advocate for patients navigating their medication journeys. You will engage directly with patients, helping them understand the benefits of generic alternatives, facilitating therapy changes, and ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens. By delivering clear, compassionate guidance, you will not only generate cost savings for patients and our partners but also reinforce arenaflex’s reputation for high‑quality, patient‑first service.

This role operates within a collaborative, cross‑functional environment, partnering closely with the Specialty Projects Team, pharmacists, and other clinical specialists to execute targeted medication conversion initiatives. Your ability to balance independent decision‑making with team collaboration will be essential to delivering seamless, first‑call resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Outreach & Education: Initiate inbound and outbound calls to discuss generic medication options, therapy alternatives, and cost‑saving opportunities, ensuring patients feel informed and empowered.
  • Medication Conversion Support: Work hand‑in‑hand with the Specialty Projects Team to identify candidates for generic conversion, coordinate therapy changes, and document outcomes in arenaflex’s CRM system.
  • Adherence Monitoring: Conduct proactive outreach to verify patients are taking their medications as prescribed, troubleshoot barriers to adherence, and flag any concerns for pharmacist review.
  • Insurance & Reimbursement Guidance: Provide clear explanations of insurance coverage, co‑pay structures, and reimbursement processes, helping patients navigate complex healthcare billing.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve patient inquiries, complaints, and escalations with empathy and efficiency, aiming for first‑call resolution whenever possible.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accurately record all interactions in arenaflex’s secure system, adhering to HIPAA regulations and internal data‑privacy standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Share insights and feedback with leadership to refine scripts, workflows, and training materials, contributing to a culture of ongoing excellence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience handling phone‑based inquiries and resolutions.
  • At least 6 months of high‑volume call center experience using Windows, Microsoft Office, or comparable applications.
  • Residency in the state of Nevada and ability to work within the designated time zones.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; additional education in health‑related fields is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy terminology, insurance concepts, and medication adherence principles.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Experience in a pharmacy‑centric environment or prior exposure to generic medication counseling.
  • Certification such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or related healthcare credential.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret prescription data and identify conversion opportunities.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish) to serve Nevada’s diverse patient population.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Ability to understand patient concerns, respond with genuine care, and build trust quickly.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quick identification of root causes and implementation of effective solutions without unnecessary escalations.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, concise, and professional verbal communication, with strong written documentation skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously while maintaining data accuracy.
  • Time Management: Efficiently handle a high volume of calls while meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with pharmacists, project managers, and other support staff to achieve shared goals.
