The State of Colorado's Office of the Attorney General is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for the Financial Fraud Unit. This role involves prosecuting financial crimes such as insurance and securities fraud, collaborating with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, and working on complex cases within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute insurance and securities fraud throughout the state
  • Work on a multi-disciplinary team to investigate and prosecute fraud
  • Review referrals and assist with investigations of allegations of financial crimes
  • Make charging decisions and present cases before the statewide grand jury

Skills

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado or be clearly eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar
  • Prosecution experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to lead teams on complex cases
  • Ability to present cases before the statewide grand jury
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills with team members
  • At least two years of criminal prosecution experience
  • Independently conducted multiple jury trials as first chair
