About the position A software engineer wanted! Our diverse, multi-discipline and multicultural team of 8 people are responsible for the full technology stack which delivers critical services to some of the largest energy consumers in the world. We’re a small but nimble team in which your contributions will directly impact the end products. Join our team to architect, build, and maintain our robust cloud infrastructure on Azure. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our platform by implementing cutting-edge CI/CD practices, Infrastructure as Code, and networking solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to automation, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Ensure efficient build, test, and deployment workflows for our applications.
  • Define and enforce quality gates within pipelines, including mandatory test coverage thresholds, security scans, and other checks to ensure code and infrastructure quality.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Bicep templates.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to implement and maintain resources within Azure Landing Zones.
  • Design, configure, and manage cloud network infrastructure, focusing on implementing and maintaining a hub-and-spoke topology for secure and efficient connectivity across Azure resources and on-premises environments. This includes VNETs, VPNs/ExpressRoute, firewalls, and NSGs.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain core Azure services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Identify opportunities for automation of infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and operational tasks.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Work closely with development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and deployment requirements, and collaborate with security teams to implement best practices.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related infrastructure role.
  • Experience implementing and enforcing quality gates, test coverage policies, and security scanning in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash for automation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Bicep and solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Experience working with or within Azure Landing Zones.
  • Deep understanding of Azure services and architecture.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud networking concepts, particularly hub-and-spoke topology, VNET peering, VPN Gateway, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Private DNS and Azure Firewall.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Docker is a plus.
  • Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) or background task queues (e.g., Celery).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
