[Remote] EHR System Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Electronic Health Record Systems Analyst supports the Clinical Access Revenue System department by acting as a liaison between end users and the Electronic Health Record team, ensuring systems align with operational needs and patient safety priorities.
Responsibilities
- Obtain Epic certification within 180 days of hire and maintain required certifications as assigned
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain build and testing standards, including SME or governance signoff
- Follow IS division best practices and UT MD Anderson policies, procedures, and standards
- Prepare and maintain documentation for system enhancements and new technology implementations
- Follow documented change control processes and perform quality control and testing to ensure technically sound solutions
- Implement and prioritize requested system changes or projects while proactively communicating with end users
- Maintain and troubleshoot Electronic Health Record build and configuration
- Modify Epic content as directed by project teams and governance bodies
- Participate in implementation and optimization efforts with required approvals
- Analyze system configuration with a strong focus on patient safety
- Perform medium-risk and moderately complex system maintenance activities
- Complete routine system revisions to meet established build metrics
- Apply clinical workflow knowledge to optimize system design and development
- Provide technical expertise in the design and development of Electronic Health Record systems
- Provide timely customer support and problem resolution for assigned applications
- Communicate expectations for procedures, service arrival times, and project deliverables
- Participate in after-hours application support and downtime procedures as needed
- Build technical and workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve incidents effectively
- Coordinate issue resolution with Epic technical support
- Gather information related to system enhancements and workflow improvements
- Maintain strong liaison relationships with customers and OneIS partners
- Collaborate with senior analysts to build technical and operational knowledge
- Attend meetings, participate in workgroups, and serve on committees as required
- Support the delivery of innovative, quality, and sustainable IT solutions and services

Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years Clinical, relevant healthcare information technology, or relevant business experience
- EPIC - EPIC Certification within 180 Days
- EpicCare ambulatory certified
- At least 3 years of healthcare IT experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Analytical skills
- Strong collaborative work ethic
