The University of Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Accountant Financial Analyst Senior to support groundbreaking clinical research across the institution. This role involves managing financial projects, developing budgets, providing training, and negotiating with clinical trial sponsors.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the financial project manager for assigned projects by providing proactive research project budget development and start up support
  • Ensures study budgets developed include necessary/correct components such as indirect, pass-through, and one-time costs
  • Provides training and education as needed to departments and CGS on clinical trial post award management
  • Negotiates directly with clinical trial sponsors; performs reviews and prepares responses to sponsor budget offers and counteroffers
  • Performs data entry of final budget terms into Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS)

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience OR equivalent
  • High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience
  • Associate's degree and six (6) years of experience
  • Master's degree and two (2) years of experience
  • Doctorate degree and no experience
  • Preferred education: Accounting degree
  • Preferred experience: CPA
