[Remote] Business Development Manager - Life Sciences

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Advanced Solutions Life Sciences (ASLS) develops and commercializes bioprinting and bioassembly platforms that automate complex biological workflows. The Life Sciences Sales Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities for ASLS instrumentation, software, and services in the biotech and pharma sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a territory business plan targeting biotech, pharma, CRO, academic, and drug discovery accounts with active organoid, iPSC, tissue engineering, or 3D biology programs
  • Proactively identify new customer opportunities through outbound prospecting, conference engagement, publication tracking, and inbound lead follow-up
  • Qualify accounts against defined criteria including budget, technical fit, timeline, and decision-making structure
  • Lead discovery conversations with scientists and technical decision-makers to understand current workflows, quantify pain points (variability, throughput, labor cost), and build a tailored value case for BAB
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder deals involving Principal Scientists, Automation Leads, Lab Operations, and R&D Directors or VPs
  • Develop and present technically credible proposals and ROI analyses that address customer-specific workflow bottlenecks
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, including demo coordination, proposal development, negotiation, and procurement navigation
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date sales pipeline and forecast in the CRM at all times
  • Log customer-facing activity — calls, emails, meetings — with detail sufficient for team handoffs and accurate forecasting
  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and deal-level insights to sales leadership
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaign feedback, content needs, and customer-facing messaging
  • Monitor competitive landscape, customer adoption trends, and emerging workflow needs to inform product and commercial strategy

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in cell biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or a related life sciences field; Master's or Ph.D. a plus
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success selling capital equipment, instrumentation, or scientific platforms to life sciences research organizations (biotech, pharma, academic core facilities, or CROs)
  • Familiarity with CRISPR gene editing workflows, high-throughput screening (HTS), or drug discovery assay development
  • Proven ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals with average selling prices in the $100K–$500K+ range
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfort with digital engagement and virtual demo environments
  • Ability to travel up to 5% within an assigned territory for customer visits, demos, presentations, and conferences
