[Remote] Mechanical Design Engineer – Integration Solutions

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Engineering Search Firm Inc. is seeking an innovative, solutions-driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Integration Solutions team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing conveyor systems and other material handling equipment while collaborating with various departments to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conveyor systems, in-plant lifts, and custom material handling equipment
  • Create and release manufacturing drawings and documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Prepare approval drawings, layouts, and cost estimates to support sales activities
  • Generate quotation numbers, maintain project data, and assist in proposal development
  • Create, maintain, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the Visual MRP system
  • Develop RFQs, analyze supplier quotations, and support procurement activities
  • Coordinate engineering changes and production releases, including:
  • Managing change orders
  • Tracking cost impacts and schedule changes
  • Communicating updates with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product manufacturability and production efficiency
  • Assist in the development of fixtures, tooling, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation activities while incorporating lessons learned into final product designs
  • Lead product rationalization initiatives, including BOM optimization and reduction of equipment and tooling requirements
  • Maintain project records, lessons learned, and continuous improvement recommendations
  • Work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure design requirements are achieved during manufacturing
  • Track project progress, priorities, and resource allocation using project management software (LiquidPlanner)
  • Travel as required to support project execution, manufacturing operations, customer installations, and business needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Must be a citizen of The United States, and have a valid US Passport
  • Experience range: 3 to 7 years
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical design principles, and material handling equipment
  • Experience with BOM management and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with FEA and engineering calculations
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality engineering solutions
  • Candidates preferred to be living on the EASTERN Side of the USA
