Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Agent at arenaflex, you will be the face of the company for thousands of passengers each day. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting passengers at ticket counters and gates, ensuring a warm and professional first impression.
  • Checking in passengers and verifying luggage, adhering to airline policies and safety regulations.
  • Resolving customer concerns and complaints related to ticketing, baggage handling, and flight schedules with patience and empathy.
  • Providing accurate information on flight itineraries, fares, and travel requirements, acting as a trusted source of knowledge.
  • Making clear, courteous announcements over the public address system regarding boarding, delays, and gate changes.
  • Coordinating flight movement messages between the gate, ground handling team, flight crew, and airport vendors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized work area and ensuring all equipment (e.g., scanners, computers) is functional.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with airport security procedures.
  • Supporting shift handovers by documenting critical information and communicating any operational issues to the next team.

Essential Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following core qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, enabling you to interact professionally with passengers, teammates, and station leadership.
  • Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using airline reservation systems, ticketing software, and standard office applications.
  • Education & Experience: Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (required for certain airport locations).
  • Security Clearance: Ability to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a comprehensive background check covering employment, criminal history, and residence over the past ten years.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 70 pounds (32 kg) regularly, stand for extended periods, and work safely around jet engines and ground‑handling equipment.
  • Vaccination Requirement: For candidates applying to locations such as San Francisco (SFO), proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination with a CDC‑approved vaccine is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Previous experience in airline passenger service, hospitality, or retail customer service.
  • Familiarity with airport operations, including gate management and baggage handling procedures.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other widely spoken languages, to better serve diverse passenger populations.
  • Certification in safety or security training (e.g., OSHA, TSA).
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
