For more information, please visit www.youthvillages.org Youth Villages' Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a passionate individual to join our high-performing team as a Liferay Product Manager. Working on the Youth Villages’ IT team means collaborating with purpose-driven people on high-impact projects and products, making a direct impact on the youth and families who need us the most. Position Overview: The Liferay Product Manager, reporting to the Director of Product and Innovation as part of the IT team, will work closely with the Youth Villages’ Strategic Partnerships, Clinical Services, Research, and Leadership teams (including officers and directors) to support the product management of the organization’s proprietary clinical platform, GuideTree. They will oversee the technical product and solution’s strategy, planning, and full life cycle management. This position will utilize user-centered design and robust product/project management in all development and support activities, providing value to internal and external users while meeting organizational requirements. This position will also manage the analysts and engineers that support this product. They will also work on special projects as requested by the Director, CIO, and other members of the leadership team, as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Liferay Product Manager: Serves as internal system administrator for the Liferay environments (i.e., development, QA, and production) Handles all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, workflows, and other routine tasks Manages Liferay data feeds and other integrations Completes regular internal system audits and prepares for upgrades Acts as technical lead for all Liferay projects Conducts discovery to gather business requirements for initial and on-going development projects in Liferay, documenting and organizing them into features, stories, and tasks Understands and documents current and future state business processes Understands business needs and translates them into requirements for use by a cross-functional software development team (currently an external vendor), modifying and updating them as needed Works with various internal and external teams to understand clinical and operational data needs and ensure solutions align Prepares and maintains the product roadmap that defines product development in both the short and long term Support Product Analyst(s) in managing all help desk tickets and support requests for the product Assists in training new back-end users, as needed, in partnership with Product Analyst(s) Provides data about the product to business development teams Supports Clinical Services in loading and managing content effectively Facilitates testing of new Liferay functionality and manage rollouts Oversees production of functional, technical, and system design documentation by external vendor, or produce own if not completed by vendor Supports Product Analyst(s) in providing expert support to end users in managing system and process changes Proposes and manages the product budget Manages external vendor and partner relationships for product development Ensures solutions follow best practices as well as meet business needs Monitors and evaluates new technologies and features, informing the company on their potential application to the product Reports analytics on platform utilization and functionality Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required) Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field (strongly preferred) 5+ years of product management or similarly related experience in lieu of degree (acceptable) 3+ years of experience working in Information Technology (required) Experience managing digital experience or horizontal portal platform, preferably on Liferay DXP (required) Understanding of Liferay DXP platform, including Liferay best practices and functionality (strong plus) Experience using Liferay Analytics (strongly preferred) Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (preferred) JAVA programming experience (preferred) Experience with non-profits (strongly preferred) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Proficient with Microsoft Office products Ability to maintain a flexible schedule Youth Villages Benefits Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug Coverage and Vision 401(k) Time off: 2 week paid vacation (full-time) / 1 week paid vacation (part-time) 12 paid sick days per year 11 paid holidays Paid Parental Leave Mileage & Cell Phone Reimbursement (when applicable) Tuition reimbursement and licensure supervision Growth & development through continuous training Clinical and administrative advancement opportunities *Benefits are excluded for variable status employees.
