- Term IT Project Manager – VICTR
This is a full-time/exempt term position lasting six months to one year.
- Job Summary
- This position will coordinate project team activities with occasional guidance, including collaborating with investigators to manage current projects, as well as secure additional projects, and managing the relationship between investigators and the informatics group. Identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Coordinates the activities of the team (i.e., create project assignments and distribute workload, perform training, provide general supervision) by becoming familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. Implements small development projects or components of large projects. In addition, this position is also needed to coordinate technical infrastructure and resource allocation between the informatics group and other technical groups within the Vanderbilt institution.

- Key Responsibilities
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g., descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, regression).
- Ability to retrieve, analyze, and validate data to answer straightforward business questions using common analytics tools (required).
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably SQL or Python.
- Experience making simple updates or modifications to Tableau dashboards is strongly preferred.
- Ability to translate analytic findings into clear visualizations and written summaries for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports, slide decks, or summary briefs for leadership or research teams.
- Familiarity with working with healthcare, clinical, or administrative datasets.
- Project Communications.
- Meets with stakeholders to understand project scope and timeline. Translates customer needs into projects on a project roadmap.
During feasibility discussion, understand project goals and communicate alternative ideas where possible to better suit project goals and budget. Suggests key milestones from completing a project’s minimum viable product within project budget, and additional milestones for subsequent development phases. Provides communication buffer between stakeholders and developers. Demonstrates mastery of project communications in practical applications of a difficult nature. Effectively transmits technical and business ideas and information to others, including non-technical audiences. Shares knowledge, ideas and information openly, and effectively sells new ideas and influences others. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering Project Communications without requiring support and instruction from others. Communicate with key stakeholders to keep them informed about development progress and any potential barriers that may arise. Provide regular updates to project team regarding development progress; updates may include quick messages, calls, screenshots, documentation, or demonstrations of development.
