Experienced Part-time Remote Bookkeeper for Northeast Region - Financial Accounting and Reporting Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Part-time Remote Bookkeeper for the Northeast region to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine accounting tasks, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, data maintenance, and other tasks related to the generation of financial statements for internal and external reporting. This role is very deadline-driven in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of transactions. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and month-end closing journal entries accurately and timely, including but not limited to bank account activity, T&E reporting, accruals, and prepaids.
- Perform period-end account reconciliations accurately and timely (balance sheet and income statement accounts).
- Adhere to a strict month-end close schedule to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Maintenance of ERP system: inputting data, coding expenses, scheduling required jobs, and verifying data.
- Assist with preparation of internal controls and both internal and external audit activities.
- Prepare predefined or ad hoc reports for management.
- Prepare periodic reports as required for third-party contracts (such as government census reports).
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field of study.
- 1 year of demonstrated experience in Bookkeeping.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive data and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Prior experience with RTP accounting systems – Oracle preferred, Host, or Hyperion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field of study.
- 2+ years of experience in Bookkeeping.
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) designation.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial software applications.
