Remote Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex – Full‑Time, Remote, High‑Volume Prescription Management

Remote Full-time Hiring now

About arenaflex arenaflex is a forward‑thinking pharmacy services organization that blends cutting‑edge technology with compassionate patient care. Our mission is to simplify the prescription journey—from prescriber to patient—by delivering accurate, secure, and timely medication processing across the nation. With a robust remote infrastructure, a team of dedicated pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, and a culture rooted in integrity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, arenaflex is redefining how pharmacy care is delivered in the digital age. Why This Role Matters At arenaflex, the Remote Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry Specialist is the first line of digital contact for every prescription that flows through our system. You’ll be the guardian of data integrity, the liaison between prescribers and patients, and the problem‑solver who resolves claim rejections, insurance discrepancies, and medication‑related interruptions. Your work ensures that patients receive the right medication, at the right time, with the right information—directly from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prescription Data Management: Accurately enter, review, and validate prescription orders and patient demographic information into our electronic pharmacy platforms.
  • Electronic Record Keeping: Utilize industry‑standard software such as PioneerRx and Pharmetika to maintain compliant, searchable, and audit‑ready electronic records.
  • Prescriber Communication: Proactively contact prescribers to clarify dosage, refill instructions, or missing information, ensuring every order meets clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Patient Outreach: Reach out to patients to verify insurance coverage, confirm medication details, discuss copay responsibilities, and update profile information as needed.
  • Claim Resolution: Investigate rejected claims, identify root causes (e.g., payer policies, coding errors), and work with pharmacy staff and third‑party payers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Issue Escalation & Follow‑Up: Manage prescription delays, copay discrepancies, and interruptions with clear, empathetic communication, escalating complex cases to senior staff when appropriate.
  • High‑Volume Processing: Maintain speed and accuracy while handling a large volume of prescriptions, adhering to established turnaround time benchmarks.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily virtual huddles, share insights, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the remote operations team.
  • Saturday Rotations: Cover rotating Saturday shifts to ensure uninterrupted service (arenaflex is closed on Sundays).
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Follow all federal, state, and arenaflex-specific policies related to HIPAA, medication safety, and pharmacy law.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years verified experience as a pharmacy technician in a bustling retail or mail‑order environment.
  • Current registration with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (or equivalent licensure for the state in which you reside).
  • Strong data‑entry proficiency with a demonstrated ability to achieve high accuracy rates (≥99%).
  • Hands‑on experience with electronic prescription processing, including familiarity with e‑prescribing standards (e.g., NCPDP SCRIPT).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to prescribers, patients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of thriving in a fully remote work environment.
  • Reliable high‑speed internet connection, a dedicated workspace, and a computer that meets arenaflex’s technical specifications.
  • Availability to work a full 40‑hour workweek, including rotating Saturday shifts, with overtime eligibility upon supervisor approval.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Haves

  • National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
  • Prior experience using PioneerRx, Pharmetika, or similar pharmacy management systems.
  • Exposure to third‑party payer processes, including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Experience in a remote or telehealth pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy compounding workflows and regulatory considerations.
