[Remote] Director of Business Development
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Enquyst Technologies Inc is a cutting-edge bioprocess intelligence platform focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. They are seeking a commercially driven and technically credible Business Development & Sales Director to lead revenue growth across pharmaceutical companies, contract development and manufacturing organizations, and emerging biotech by owning the full sales cycle and building strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Own and exceed annual revenue targets across pharma, CDMO, and biotech verticals
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from prospecting through contract close
- Identify, qualify, and convert leads through outbound outreach, conferences, referrals, and partner channels
- Develop territory and account plans aligned with Enquyst’s growth strategy
- Cultivate deep, multi-stakeholder relationships within target accounts (process development, manufacturing, procurement, and C-suite)
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on bioprocess digitalization and intelligence strategies
- Negotiate and close complex, multi-year SaaS and services agreements
- Drive expansion and upsell motions within existing accounts
- Map and penetrate key decision-making units within large pharma and CDMO organizations
- Represent Enquyst at major industry conferences and forums (BPI, INTERPHEX, BioProcess International, DCAT)
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with technology vendors, CROs, and consultancies
- Provide market intelligence to inform product roadmap and positioning
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, product, and science teams to align commercial strategy with product capabilities
- Develop compelling proposals, pitch materials, and business cases tailored to each prospect
- Contribute to pricing strategy, commercial model design, and contract structuring
- Establish scalable sales processes, CRM discipline, and reporting cadences
Skills
- 7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in bioprocessing, biotech, or life sciences technology
- Proven track record selling solutions directly to pharmaceutical companies and/or CDMOs
- Deep understanding of bioprocess workflows — upstream cell culture, downstream purification, process development, and/or tech transfer
- Experience closing complex, consultative SaaS, software, or data platform deals (5- to 7-figure ACV)
- Demonstrated ability to navigate long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and procurement processes
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills — able to translate technical value into business impact
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation and deal structuring
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable operating in a high-growth, early-stage environment
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and modern sales tools
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 30–40%)
- Background or advanced degree in biochemical engineering, bioprocessing, or life sciences
- Existing network within pharma process development, manufacturing operations, or CDMO leadership
- Experience selling to both US and European biopharma markets
- Familiarity with data analytics, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 solutions in bioprocessing
