Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Optum is improving the flow of health data and information to create a more connected system. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and support analytics solutions for the Optum Payment Integrity Platform, leveraging cloud computing technologies to deliver business intelligence solutions. The role involves designing data solutions, managing data pipelines, and driving innovation to enhance existing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data, Cloud solutions
  • Design and architect data solutions to suit client product needs. Develop and implement analytic solutions
  • Research, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks, and patterns to build sustainable data pipelines
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement on existing solutions
  • Implement large Data warehouse solutions in Cloud
  • Analyze and define customer requirements and build products specific to client needs
  • Work on architecting solutions for analytic platforms while partnering with cross functional teams
  • Make accurate development effort estimates to assist management in project and resource planning
  • Write technical documentation and participate in production support
  • Keep skills up to date through ongoing self-directed training

Skills

  • 10+ years of IT-related work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in hands-on software development
  • 2+ years of experience in Azure cloud platform & cloud services
  • 2+ years of experience in development using Python, Spark
  • 2+ years of experience in using tools like Databricks, Snowflake, python, pyspark, AKS
  • 2+ years of experience in MySQL and NoSQL databases
  • 2+ years of experience in tools such as Airflow, CI/CD using Jenkins
  • 2+ years of experience in API development, Streaming, Kafka, event hubs
  • Understanding containerization and performance tuning in Data & Engineering Pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Python, PySpark, Snowflake & Databricks experience
  • Excellent analysis, process, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to change and adapt quickly, Excellent Team Player showcasing independence and ownership
