[Remote] Senior Sales Engineer

The Senior Sales Engineer will serve as a key technical advisor in the sales cycle, delivering tailored demos and guiding prospects through implementation readiness while collaborating with various teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver tailored product demos and technical presentations to executives, business users, data teams, and IT
  • Clearly communicate the value, differentiation, and architecture of Strategy’s platform versus competing analytics and data solutions
  • Lead technical and business conversations with senior IT and business decision makers; confidently handle objections and challenging situations
  • Coordinate pre‑ and post‑sales activities with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to ensure smooth handoffs and successful implementations
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to relay customer feedback and influence the product roadmap
  • Participate in Strategy’s annual conference and marketing events, representing Strategy as a subject‑matter expert
  • Contribute best practices, competitive insights, and reusable assets to the Sales Engineering community

Skills

  • BS degree and 5+ years of related experience (presales, sales, consulting, marketing, or training)
  • Experience with Business Analytics/BI or relational databases a strong plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into business value for all audiences
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems in complex customer environments
  • Excellent organization and time management; experience leading project workstreams
  • Successful completion of Strategy certification upon employment
  • Candidates should be located on the East Coast, as the role requires travel to clients throughout the region
  • Solid SQL and relational database knowledge
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Azure Synapse)
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, Matillion) or custom pipelines
  • Understanding of data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling) and data governance/security (RBAC, auditing, PII)
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills for C-level, business, and technical audiences
  • Strategic and tactical problem solver with a consultative, customer-centric mindset
  • Comfortable owning outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP, and designing architectures that combine analytics platforms with cloud data warehouses/lakes and enterprise systems; familiarity with APIs and integration patterns
