[Remote] Sales Solution Engineer

The Sales Solution Engineer plays a critical role in the pre-sales process, engaging with customers to uncover technical requirements and craft solution strategies while delivering compelling demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical point of contact on standard customer engagements — coordinating pre-sales meetings, determining technical requirements, and ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs to inform the right solution approach
  • Create and present compelling demonstrations of proposed solution strategies to key customer stakeholders, applying best practice knowledge and solution expertise to drive validation and buy-in
  • Coordinate with global services teams to transition key customer information, remaining actively involved throughout the process to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer handoff experience
  • Compose thorough internal documentation reflecting all activity related to the solution strategy and deliver well-crafted technical responses for requests for proposals (RFPs)
  • Consistently identify and share opportunities to improve internal efficiencies, staying current on best practices, market trends, and solution enhancements through ongoing collaboration with Development teams
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events — representing Hyland's solutions and contributing to the broader sales and technical community

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in technical sales with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging, informative, and compelling presentations to diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and general software implementation methodologies
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and across cross-functional areas
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment as a self-directed professional who can manage projects independently through to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and gain consensus with key customer stakeholders including executive-level decision-makers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions with ease, clarity, and impact across varied audiences
  • A genuine drive to learn and stay professionally current on industry trends, platform capabilities, and emerging technologies
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly to evolving customer needs, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time to support customer engagements, events, and industry conferences
