[Remote] Staff DevOps Engineer

The Staff DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and automating cloud infrastructure while collaborating with the Engineering team to implement optimal cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Working in tandem with the Engineering team to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing relevant training
  • Staying current with industry trends and making recommendations to help the company excel
  • Promoting and training best practices with software development teams

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of software development or DevOps experience
  • AWS/GCP Solutions Architect, Cloud Security, OpenStack Administrator and/or other cloud-related certification(s) required
  • Expert level experience with cloud container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, GKE/ECS or related is required
  • CI/CD and related experience with Jenkins, Github, Nexus, or similar technologies is required
  • Experience implementing middleware technologies like Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ and NGINX
  • Strong software engineering experience including client/server web development (HTML, JavaScript, Java), server administration, programming and automation
  • Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Splunk, ELK
  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks
  • Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering
