[Remote] Platform Engineer

The Senior Platform Engineer will design and build a self-service developer portal, collaborate with engineering teams, and contribute to scalable platform components on AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a self-service developer portal using Java and React that serves as the front door to an internal platform ecosystem
- Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to deliver scalable platform components on AWS
- Create cloud-native, well-tested services and tooling that support hundreds of microservices
- Build and evolve platform capabilities across containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and security
- Influence platform architecture decisions and guide adoption across engineering teams
- Promote secure-by-default patterns, automation, and self-service workflows that reduce friction for developers
- Contribute to standards around reliability, compliance, and operational excellence in regulated environments
Skills
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Platform Engineer working with object-oriented languages
- Strong hands-on experience building and operating production workloads on AWS
- Proficiency in at least one OO language such as Java, Python, Go, or C#
- Solid background in modern software engineering practices and agile delivery
- Java and React experience strongly preferred
- AWS cloud services
- Infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Docker and container-based architectures
- CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
- Git-based workflows
- Application and container security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, image scanning)
- Experience building internal developer platforms or developer portals
- Exposure to managed container platforms and serverless or managed AWS services
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Familiarity with API design, GraphQL, or backend-for-frontend patterns
