[Remote] Contracts Operations Manager

Exterro is a leading company in data risk management, and they are seeking a Contracts Operations Manager specializing in SaaS contracts and legal technology. This role involves leading the strategy and implementation of the contract lifecycle management tool while supporting the global sales team and ensuring compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a legal technology and software champion by actively identifying, evaluating, and advocating for new legal tech and CLM enhancements that drive automation and efficiency across the organization
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of legal technology and software systems, such as the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool
- Develop and improve contract processes and standardization, cross-functional workflows, guidelines, and playbooks for use with key internal partners (e.g., Sales, Security, Compliance, Customer Success) and external partners (e.g., Outside Counsel)
- Manage the full contract lifecycle using our CLM tool, from initiation to renewal, with an explicit focus on maintaining an accurate contract repository
- Perform deep-dive contract analysis by designing and pulling complex reports from the repository, including extracting specific contract terms, and generating actionable metrics on repository health, workflow efficiency, and CLM usage
- Manage contract compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Collaborate closely with our global sales team to expedite deal closures
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, with a focus on SaaS and enterprise-level contracts
- Provide guidance on contract-related matters to internal stakeholders
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting our contracts
- Partner with Customer Success on amendments and renewals
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on contract statuses and ensure parties track to SLAs
- Provide regular trainings and open office hours for Sales on using our CLM
- Manage legal service providers and outside counsel projects
- Act as the first line of review for contract intake and requests, validating content and context to ensure compliance
- Support various non-specific legal projects and ad-hoc assignments
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification or relevant legal education or experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience in contract management or administration, preferably in a SaaS software or legal technology environment
- Proven track record of supporting a global sales team
- Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools
- Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage legal projects
