[Remote] Electrical Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Spencer Ogden is focused on the design and execution of new-build energy infrastructure projects. The Electrical Engineer III will support end-to-end electrical engineering across project development, emphasizing substation integration and power generation interconnects.
Responsibilities
- Developing and reviewing electrical designs
- Supporting system studies
- Coordinating with interconnection utilities and EPC contractors
- Ensuring engineering deliverables align with project requirements and grid compliance standards
- Participating in equipment selection
- Single-line diagram development
- Load analysis
- Construction support during execution phases
- Collaborating closely with project development, operations, and external engineering firms to ensure constructability and reliability of power systems
Skills
- Strong electrical engineering design experience in power generation or large-scale energy system
- Knowledge of medium and high-voltage systems, substations, and interconnection design
- Experience with power system studies (load flow, fault analysis, protection coordination)
- Ability to interpret and develop single-line diagrams and electrical schematics
- Experience working with EPCs, utilities, and external engineering consultants
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
- 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in energy, utilities, or industrial power systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Experience with power generation, grid interconnection, or substation design
- Familiarity with electrical codes, utility standards, and protection systems
- Experience supporting engineering through design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams in a project environment
