[Remote] Electrical Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Spencer Ogden is focused on the design and execution of new-build energy infrastructure projects. The Electrical Engineer III will support end-to-end electrical engineering across project development, emphasizing substation integration and power generation interconnects.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and reviewing electrical designs
  • Supporting system studies
  • Coordinating with interconnection utilities and EPC contractors
  • Ensuring engineering deliverables align with project requirements and grid compliance standards
  • Participating in equipment selection
  • Single-line diagram development
  • Load analysis
  • Construction support during execution phases
  • Collaborating closely with project development, operations, and external engineering firms to ensure constructability and reliability of power systems

Skills

  • Strong electrical engineering design experience in power generation or large-scale energy system
  • Knowledge of medium and high-voltage systems, substations, and interconnection design
  • Experience with power system studies (load flow, fault analysis, protection coordination)
  • Ability to interpret and develop single-line diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with EPCs, utilities, and external engineering consultants
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in energy, utilities, or industrial power systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Experience with power generation, grid interconnection, or substation design
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, utility standards, and protection systems
  • Experience supporting engineering through design, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams in a project environment
