Key Responsibilities – Your Day‑to‑Day Impact

  • Load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo safely between aircraft and the terminal, handling items up to 70 pounds with precision.
  • Guide incoming and departing aircraft to and from gate positions, ensuring timely connections and smooth flow of operations.
  • Operate ground support equipment—including tugs, belt loaders, tow tractors, and baggage carts—while adhering to safety protocols in high‑traffic areas.
  • Utilize baggage scanners and computer systems to accurately route luggage to its final destination, minimizing mis‑routing and delays.
  • Protect cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions through vigilant handling and proper storage techniques.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, report any maintenance needs, and follow established safety‑conscious procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow ramp crew, flight‑deck personnel, and terminal staff to resolve operational challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Adapt to shifting schedules, including early‑morning, overnight, and weekend shifts, based on flight demand and seniority.
