If you want a career where you can make a measurable impact while building valuable skills in retention, consultative sales, and customer experience strategy, this opportunity is designed for you.

About the Role: Remote Customer Retention Sales Specialist

As a Remote Customer Retention Sales Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as the frontline expert responsible for retaining customers who have expressed interest in canceling their home security services. This dual capacity role combines advanced customer service, conflict resolution, consultative selling, and brand advocacy into one rewarding position. You will be a problem solver, a negotiator, and a trusted advisor who helps customers see the lasting value of remaining protected by arenaflex.

Working from a dedicated home office, you will manage a high volume of inbound calls from customers requesting cancellation. Your mission is to uncover the underlying concerns, present tailored solutions, and ultimately preserve long-term customer relationships. Every call is an opportunity to demonstrate arenaflex's award-winning customer experience and transform a potential loss into a renewed commitment.

Please note: This role requires 8 to 12 weeks of paid onsite training at our Wichita, Kansas office. Upon successful completion of training, you will transition to a fully remote work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls from customers seeking to cancel their arenaflex home security services, providing expert-level retention and sales support.
  • Act as a consultative problem solver by actively listening, identifying root-cause concerns, and recommending long-term solutions tailored to each customer's needs.
  • Proactively upsell and cross-sell additional services, equipment upgrades, and enhanced protection plans that align with customer priorities.
  • Apply proven de-escalation techniques to manage difficult, escalated calls with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.
  • Negotiate customized solutions, including adjusted service rates, billing credits, system service repairs, and equipment enhancements, to retain customer business.
  • Manage back-to-back calls with care, ensuring each customer receives thorough attention and an exceptional experience.
  • Use multiple tools and systems (10+) simultaneously to research customer accounts, process adjustments, and deliver effective solutions in real time.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of arenaflex products, services, policies, competitive offerings, and the broader wireless and security industry landscape.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed personal and team retention and sales performance targets.
  • Document customer interactions accurately and thoroughly within internal systems to support continuous improvement and reporting.
  • Reduce repeat calls and escalations by resolving issues correctly the first time and delivering durable, customer-focused outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team leaders, trainers, and support departments to share insights, best practices, and customer feedback that drive organizational improvement.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a sales or customer retention role where performance was tied to measurable targets and outcomes.
  • Call Center Experience: At least 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience within a high-volume call center environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; college degree, associate's degree, or some post-secondary coursework preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple screens, applications, and systems simultaneously while delivering efficient customer support.
  • Home Office Requirements: A private, dedicated, and distraction-free workspace, high-speed internet service (DSL, Cable, or Fiber) with the ability to hardwire via ethernet from the cable modem to your PC. Minimum internet speeds of 25 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload. Note: 5G Home Internet and Fixed Wireless services are not accepted.
  • Availability: Ability to commit to a consistent full-time schedule with reliable attendance, including the full 8-week onsite training program in Wichita, KS.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional active listening skills and the ability to interpret customer cues to uncover hidden concerns.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a consultative, win-win approach to problem resolution.
  • Experience interpreting contracts and clearly communicating terms, conditions, and customer obligations.
  • Ability to perform quick mental calculations to support customer offers and account adjustments.
  • High emotional intelligence with demonstrated success in de-escalating frustrated or upset customers.
  • Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for customer advocacy, brand loyalty, and long-term relationship building.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, problem solving, and creating tailored solutions under pressure.
