What to Expect - Job Responsibilities As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a critical role in our team, with responsibilities including:

  • Communication: Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance payers via telephone and email, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage to ensure compliance and accuracy, and handle any discrepancies that may arise.
  • Call Management: Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients and insurance providers, responding to queries and resolving issues.

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of recent experience with medical insurance, particularly in prior authorization.
  • Medicare and Medicaid: Experience with Medicare and Medicaid program administration is essential.
  • Insurance Verification: Knowledge of insurance verification and claim adjudication or medical billing is required.
  • Coding: Familiarity with ICD-10, HCPCS, or CPT coding is a significant advantage.
  • Attendance: A reliable attendance record is essential for success in this role.
