Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a 3 month contract for a Merchandise Buyer at High Velocity Network. The Merchandise Buyer will research, source, and purchase products in line with client requirements, cost targets, and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include analyzing sales and inventory data, identifying trends, and recommending merchandise assortments and pricing strategies. The role involves negotiating terms with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and optimal stock levels. The Merchandise Buyer will also monitor supplier performance, address supply issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and sourcing strategies.

Qualifications

  • Strong Purchasing and Inventory Management skills, including experience managing purchase orders, stock levels, and supplier relationships.
  • Proven Analytical Skills to interpret data, forecast demand, and support cost-effective buying decisions.
  • Effective Communication and Sales-related skills to negotiate with suppliers, present recommendations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in merchandise buying, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within a fast-paced or client-focused environment.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, procurement or ERP systems, and basic data analysis tools.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of sourcing best practices and cost-containment strategies is highly beneficial.
  • 3+ years experience preferred
