Department: Math Location: Nevada or Texas -- REMOTE Description The Mathematician is responsible for designing and developing the mathematical models that define the core mechanics of online slot games. This role combines a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and probability with advanced programming skills and a passion for game design. The Mathematician will have a deep understanding of player psychology and slot game dynamics; turning creative game concepts into mathematically sound and compelling products that stand out in the competitive iGaming market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain mathematical models for slot games, including reel strips, pay tables, bonus features, jackpots, progressive mechanics and feature triggers.
  • Define key game performance metrics such as return to player, hit frequency, bonus frequency and player value distribution while ensuring alignment with product goals and market requirements.
  • Produce detailed mathematical documentation, including probability models, game specifications, feature calculations, expected value analyses, simulation results, and regulatory submission materials.
  • Ensure models comply with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, adapting game mechanics as needed.
  • Create simulation frameworks, analytical tools, and prototype implementations to model game behavior, validate theoretical calculations, and evaluate feature performance across millions of simulated game rounds.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and fellow mathematicians throughout the concept and development lifecycle, actively contributing innovative ideas, shaping game mechanics, balancing features, and helping create engaging and commercially successful player experiences.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor products, and player preferences to identify opportunities for innovation and help drive the development of commercially successful games.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Mathematics major or minor required
  • Strong foundation in probability theory, statistics, combinatorics and game mathematics.
  • 5+ years in the iGaming game mathematics, slot game development or a related field.
  • Advanced programming skills with demonstrated experience building simulation tools and mathematical analysis frameworks
  • Strong proficiency in C# preferred, but Java, C++, Python or any other Object Oriented language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
