[Remote] Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

They are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer to own test planning and execution, collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering, and blend manual testing with automation to ensure high-quality product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product to translate requirements into clear test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across UI and APIs
- Build and maintain automated tests (UI and/or API) to strengthen our CI pipeline
- Validate data flows and edge cases (e.g., time & attendance, scheduling, compliance logic)
- Own defect lifecycle: reproduce, log with strong detail, prioritize, and verify fixes
- Set up and manage test data and environments; ensure repeatable, reliable runs
- Perform cross-browser and responsive testing; validate accessibility basics
- Contribute to release readiness: test summaries, go/no-go inputs, and post-release validation
- Track and improve quality metrics (escape rate, flaky tests, test coverage, MTTR)
- Document testing approaches, playbooks, and how-to guides for internal teams
Skills
- 3+ years in QA for a software product (SaaS preferred)
- Solid manual testing skills and defect isolation; strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of API testing (e.g., Postman/Insomnia) and basic SQL for data validation
- Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., clickup) and test case management (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)
- Familiarity with modern test automation (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) and CI (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Clear written communication; comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and in a remote environment
- Prior experience in HR/Payroll/Workforce Management domains
- Performance testing familiarity (e.g., k6, JMeter) and basic accessibility testing
- Monitoring & analytics exposure (e.g., Sentry, Datadog) for issue tracing
- Security-minded testing habits (auth, RBAC, PII handling)
