[Remote] Technical Writer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Amerit Consulting is a nationwide staffing and consulting firm supporting Fortune 500 clients across various sectors. They are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support a critical government healthcare program transition initiative by creating and maintaining comprehensive business and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation to support transition and knowledge transfer activities
- Conduct interviews and knowledge-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and technical subject matter experts
- Document business processes, workflows, business rules, and existing system functionality
- Develop and maintain:
- Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
- Technical Architecture Documentation
- Process Flows
- Design Specifications
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure documentation adheres to established standards, templates, and industry best practices
- Create and incorporate visual documentation elements such as flowcharts, diagrams, screenshots, and tables
- Edit, review, update, and manage document revisions and version control
- Maintain documentation within a document management system
- Communicate project progress, risks, challenges, and accomplishments effectively
- Support documentation audits and assist project leadership with documentation governance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5–7 years of Technical Writing experience
- Experience supporting government healthcare programs strongly preferred
- Ability to create, organize, and maintain technical and business documentation
- Experience translating business requirements into standardized documentation
- Strong editing, formatting, and document quality assurance skills
- Experience creating visual documentation including process maps, flowcharts, and diagrams
- Advanced proficiency with: Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience within healthcare technology, healthcare operations, or pharmacy benefit management environments
- Experience supporting documentation audits, governance, and compliance initiatives
- Experience working with distributed or remote project teams
