[Remote] SAP MDM Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. InterSources Inc is looking for an experienced SAP MDM Consultant specializing in Meter Data Management within the Utilities domain. The role involves managing high-volume meter data processing, ensuring accurate billing and settlement flows, and integrating SAP MDM with AMI/AMR systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support SAP IS-U MDM / MaCo (Market Communication) processes
- Manage high-volume interval and register data for electricity/gas meters
- Configure device and register structures, profiling, and data aggregation
- Implement and support data ingestion pipelines from smart meters
- Handle inbound data from Head-End Systems (HES) and MDUS
- Ensure data completeness, consistency, and performance for large datasets
- Troubleshoot data load failures and performance bottlenecks
- Configure and maintain VEE rules and validation profiles
- Design estimation logic for missing or incorrect data
- Monitor and resolve exceptions in meter data
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data quality standards
- Integrate SAP MDM with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) and AMR (Automated Meter Reading) systems
- Work with middleware tools such as SAP PI/PO, CPI, or third-party integration platforms
- Support protocols and formats like IDocs, Web Services, XML, and APIs
- Configure and manage settlement-relevant data extraction and export
- Support market communication (MaCo) processes for deregulated markets
- Handle data exchange with external market participants (DSO, suppliers, aggregators)
- Ensure accuracy in billing determinants and settlement calculations
- Optimize processing for large-scale interval data (15-min/30-min reads)
- Monitor batch jobs and data flows in SAP MDM
- Tune system performance for high data volumes
- Participate in unit, integration, and UAT testing
- Provide production support and incident resolution
- Document functional and technical specifications
Skills
- Strong background in SAP MDM with the Utilities domain
- Experience as an SAP MDM / MaCo Consultant specializing in Meter Data Management within Utilities
- Handling smart meter data ingestion, validation and estimation (VEE), integration with AMI/AMR systems, and downstream settlement/export processes
- Design, configure, and support SAP IS-U MDM / MaCo (Market Communication) processes
