[Remote] Senior DevOps GCP Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. InOpTra Digital is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on building, operating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure while improving platform reliability, security, and automation to enhance developer productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support production workloads running on Google Cloud Platform
  • Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes platforms using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support reliable application delivery
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Monitor, triage, and remediate security vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Respond to operational and security incidents and drive root cause analysis
  • Design and maintain observability solutions including monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing
  • Partner with product engineering teams to troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues
  • Automate operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities
  • Lead post-incident reviews and implement preventative improvements

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Operations
  • Strong hands-on experience operating production workloads in Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience designing, administering, and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments, preferably GKE
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience integrating security scanning into CI/CD pipelines and enforcing quality and security gates prior to deployment
  • Strong understanding of software supply chain security, including artifact integrity, SBOMs, and secure dependency management
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response practices
  • Programming experience with Python (preferred) and familiarity with Go, KCL, or similar languages
  • Ability to collaborate closely with software engineering teams and support production workloads
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD and GitOps workflows
  • Experience with Argo CD
  • Familiarity with Cloud Armor, Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), and GCP security services
  • Experience operating multi-cluster Kubernetes environments
  • Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry and modern observability frameworks
  • Experience supporting high-traffic, customer-facing production platforms
