[Remote] Senior Full Stack Engineer (backend leaning)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. G2i Inc. is an early-stage, venture-backed fintech startup focused on expanding access to financial tools for those historically excluded from the traditional credit system. They are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who will own backend systems and infrastructure, build APIs and services, and implement scalable architectures using AWS and Node.
Responsibilities
- Own backend systems and infrastructure end-to-end, from design through deployment and scaling
- Build performant, reliable APIs and services that power core financial products
- Design and implement scalable architectures on AWS using Node (TypeScript)
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Ship production code frequently while maintaining high quality standards
- Help establish technical patterns and best practices for the engineering team
- Interface effectively with product engineers and other stakeholders
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant backend focus
- Experience building and scaling production systems with Node and AWS
- Proficiency with TypeScript strongly preferred
- Track record of delivering reliable, performant systems at scale
- Systems-oriented mindset with a deep focus on performance, reliability, and scalability
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for system outcomes
- Comfortable thinking critically about architectural decisions and their long-term implications
- Thrives in ambiguity and can make sound technical decisions with incomplete information
- Self-starter who can work independently and drive projects to completion
- Embraces AI-assisted development to accelerate output while maintaining high code quality
